01/06 – Present Sheriff, City of Newport NewsResponsible for a budget which exceeds 15 million dollars and a staff of approximately 230 that provides a myriad of functions; including the custody and care of more than 620 prisoners daily, the protection of our Courts and Judges, the service of court documents, and the enforcement of the laws of the Commonwealth. 01/01 – 12/05 Special Agent in Charge, Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles, Investigative ServicesResponsible for conducting criminal investigations including identity and vehicle-related frauds, motor vehicle dealer-related crimes, and the evasion of transportation-related taxes throughout 1/5th of the Commonwealth. 07/99 – 01/01 Police Captain, Commanding Officer, Investigations and Training, Old Dominion UniversityResponsible for the conduct of all investigations involving violations of Federal, State and local laws. Also responsible for the proper training of the department’s 150 personnel. 10/97 – 11/98 Major, Command Information Systems Security Officer, US Army Training and Doctrine Command, Ft.
