Sheriff Gabe Morgan is committed to improving the lives of young people in Newport News. Through Morgan's vision, children and teenagers are being educated about the dangers of gang activity. (click here: Gabe Morgan recognized for his continuous devotion to young people)

So far in the 2008-2009 school year, over 2,000 students have been taught "Class Action: Reducing Gangs in Virginia."

It is an age appropriate curriculum sanctioned by the Office of the Commonwealth Attorney General. Sheriff Morgan promised to teach Class Action to every 4th grader in each of the City's 26 elementary schools. This promise is on-going from school year to school year.

Morgan and Commwealth Attorney Howard Gwynn are lecturing older students on the same subject but with a more grown-up theme.
